Law of conservation of linear momentum can be obtained by using newton second law and third law of motion when bullet is fired from gun bullet moves in forward direction and gun moves l in backward direction .
Initially both are at rest hence change in momentum of both equal to final moementum .
Let final momentum of gun be `vec( p)_(g)` and bullet be `vec(p)_(b )` then
thus total linear momentum of sytem is conserved.
Thus for isolated system total final momentum is l equal to total initial momentum
Law of conservation of linear momentum is universal and fundamental . it equally hold true of system of smaller particles like electron proton neutron as well as larger system made up of electron proton neutron.
