A man standing stationary with respect to a horizontal conveyor belt that is accelerating with 1 m s- 2 . What is the net force on the m an ? If the coefficient of static friction between the man’s shoes and the belt is 0.2 up to what acceleration o f the belt can the man continue to be stationary relative to the belt ? (Mass of the man = 65 kg).

Acceleration of converyer belt a = 1 `ms^(-2)`
mass of person m = 65 kg `=65 xx 1`
`=65 N`
Direction of this force is in opposite direction of motion of conveyer belt
Co- efficient of static friction between shoes and belt `mu_(s) = 0.2`
Consider person to be stationary w.r.t conveyer belt . Let its acceleration of conveyer belt is a maximum value of static friction force = ma
