When 20 N force is applied on a body of ...

When 20 N force is applied on a body of mass m, acceleration 8.0 `ms^(2)` is produced in it. The same force when applied on a body of mass m', acceleration of 24 `ms^(2)` is produced. What will be acceleration produced by the same force applied on these two bodies tied togather......

A

`2 ms^(-2)`

B

`8 ms^(-2)`

C

`6 ms^(-2)`

D

`4 ms^(-2)`

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
C

`m= (F )/(a ) = (20)/( 8) = 2.5 kg`
Now m`=(F ) /( a ) = (20)/( 24) = 0.8333kg`
Acceleratin produced when both the bodies are tied up .
`a = (F ) /( (m+ m)) = (20)/(2.5 + 8.833 ) = 6.006 m//s^(2)`
