The gravitation force exerted on rocket ...

The gravitation force exerted on rocket a time to  height h from the surface of earth is `1/3` time to the gravitation force exerted at the surface of sea. Then obtain the relation between h and `R_e` (radius of earth).

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`implies (GM_em)/((R_E+h)^2)=1/3((GM_em)/r^2)`
`:. (R_e+h)^2 =3R_e^2`
`:. R_e + h = sqrt3 = 1.732 R_e`
`:. h = 0.732 R_e`
