For wiring in the home, one uses Cu wires or Al wires. What considerations are involved in this ?

In household wiring Cu wire or Al wire are used. It is based on criteria of cost and conductivity. Copper is costlier than aluminum. For equal length of wire aluminium is lighter than copper wire. Hence in household wire aluminium wire is more used. Aluminium is also good conductor.
Note : Silver or iron wire also can be used but silver wire is very costly and iron wire get rusted over Ions period of time.
