Distance between two very long parallel ...

Distance between two very long parallel wires is 0.2 m. Electric currents of 4 A in one wire and 6 A in the other wire are passing in the same direction. Find the position of a point on the perpendicular line joining the two wires at which the magnetic field intensity is zero.

1. As shown in figure, suppose magnetic field is zero from `I_(1)` current carrying wire.
2. Direction of magnetic fields at point P will be opposite as current `I_(1)andI_(2)` from current carrying wires are in the same direction.
`thereforeB_(1)=B_(2)`
`therefore(mu_(0)I_(1))/(2pix)=(mu_(0)I_(2))/(2pi(0.2-x))`
`therefore4/x=6/(0.2-x)`
`therefore4(0.2-x)=6x`
`therefore0.8-4x=6x`
`therefore10x=0.8`
`thereforex=0.08m`
`thereforex=80mm`
