What happens during regulation action of a Zener diode?

A

The current and voltage across the Zener remains fixed.

B

The current through the series Resistance `(R_(s))` changes.

C

The Zener resistance is constant.

D

The resistance offered by the Zener changes.

The correct Answer is:
B, D

When zener diode is used as a voltage regulator, whenever input voltage changes, current passing through zener diode and series resistance changes. Thus option (B) is correct.
(n the present case, output voltage `V_(Z)` remains constant across zener diode. But after the breakdown, resistance of zener diode goes on decreasing gradually and so zener current `I_(Z)` goes on increasing rapidly. Thus, option (D) is also correct.
