If the resistance `R_(1)` is increased (See figure), how will the readings of the ammeter and voltmeter change?

Here when `R_(1)` is increased in the input circuit, input current `I_(B)` decreases. Now, ouput current in common emitter circuit is `I_(C )=beta I_(B)` and so `I_(C )` decreases because of decrease in `I_(B)`. Hence reading in ammeter in the output circuit decreases. Hence, voltage `I_(C )R_(2)` across `R_(2)` in the output decreases (`because I_(C )` decreases). Hence reading in voltmeter, connected across `R_(2)`, will also decrease.
