Centrosome is an organelle usually containing two cylindrical structures called centrioles. They are surrounded by amorphous pericentriolar materials. Both the centrioles in a centrosome lie perpendicular to each other in which each has an organisation like the cartwheel

Each centrioles is made up of nine evenly spaced peripheral fibrils. That is absent in centre. So this structure is called 9 + 0. Each of the fibre has 3 sub unit (Triplet)
Centrioles forms the basal body of cilia and flagella.
It forms spindle fibres in animals that give rise to spindle apparatus during cell division.
