(a) Synaptonemal complex : During prophase of first meiosis, zipper like structure is formed between homologues chromosomes. It is called synaptonemal complex. Their align meet and separation and rearrangement of chromatids which includes condensation and recombination etc.
This complex regulates exchange of reverse type between number and similar homologous Chromosomes.
(b) Metaphase plate : On equatorial pole of centromere of chromosomes plates are arranged. It is a imaginary line located at equal distance between two poles. These plates are further connected by daughter chromatids and spindle fibres.
