When potato plant was synthesizing in presence of light, carbon liable `C^14` was given in it. So `C_14O_2` was fixed and radio active photosynthetic product was formed, e.g. Glucose - `C_6^(14)H_12O_6`
This radio active Glucose is converted into sucrose which is again becomes radio active. Due to `C_14`, which has derived from sugar from first. This sucrose then is transported to various parts of the plant by phloem tissue.
Radio active carbon can be found in sugar by auto radiography method moreover elements are transported in plants. e.g. sieve tube (from phloem tissue to various parts of the plant towards sink).
