How do you distinguish between `CH_3 CH=CHCI, CH_3 CH_2 CH_2 Cl and CH_2 =CH-CH_2 CI?`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The Cl in `CH_2= CHCH_2 Cl` is very reactive. This reacts rapidly with `AgNO_3` in the cold to give a white precipitate of AgCl. `CH_3CH_2 CH_2 CI `gives white precipitate when warmed with AgNO, as it is comparatively less reactive. CH,CH=CHCI is inert and does not form white precipitate with `AgNO_3`.
