Passage-I :
When a gas 'A' is passed through dry KOH at low temperature a deep red coloured compound, B and a gas 'C' are obtained. The gas A, on reaction with but -2-ene, followed by treatment with `Zn//H_(2)O` yields acetaldehyde. Identify A, B & C.
What is deep red coloured compound

A

`KO_(3)`

B

`O_(3)`

C

`CH_(3)CHO`

D

None of these

The correct Answer is:
A

`2KOH+underset((A))underset(uarr)(5O_(3))to underset((B))undersetuarr(2KO_(3))+underset((C ))underset(uarr)(5O_(2))+H_(2)O`
`A=O_(3), B=KO_(3), C=O_(2)`
