How is a somatic hybrid different from a hybrid ?

Somatic hybrids are obtained by uniting protoplasts from two different varieties of plants and then futher cultured to from a novel plant compativilty between two plants is not a limtation ,Any two protoplsts can be united .
WHereas , hybirds are obiainted by crossing two selected parent plants of opposite sex.
may times compatibility is a limation for breeding .
