A girl walks along a straight path to drop a letter in the letterbox and comes back to her initial position. Her displacement-time graph is shown in Figure. Plot a velocity-time graph for the same.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

From the graph
(i) Initial velocity, u = 0 [Since, displacement and time is zero]
(ii) Velocity after 50 s , `v = ("Displacement")/ ("Time")` [`because` Given , displacement = 100m]
`rArr v=100/50=2ms^(-1)`
Velocity after 100 s, v = `("Displacement")/("Time")` [Here, displacement = zero and time = 100 s]
`rArr v =(0)/(100)=0`
Therefore,
`{:(v,0,2,0),(t,0,50,100):}`
Velocity-time graph plotted from above data is shown below
