To get a carpet like garas lawns are mowed regularly.Is there any scientific explanation for this?

Explanation

Regular mowing (cutting at apex) of lwan grass removes the apical portion of the plant which causes the lateral branhes to growth faster. As the apical buds inhibits growth of lateral buds by lresasing auxin , the phenonmenon called apical dominace
Beacuse of nowing of the grass it becomes bushy and gowth if faster . So as to mek evenness of the grass (carpet like) in hte lwan this practice is followied regualry to overcome the problem of apical dominance.
