Reproduction is linked to stability of population of a species. Justify the statement.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Every species constantly struggle for its survival. Natural predators and vagaries continue to remove a large section of the population of a particular species. In addition, the natural cycle of life and death also removes a section of the population. Reproduction is a way to replenish the lost section. In reproduction, DNA passes from one generation to the next. Copying of DNA takes place with consistency. The ·consistency of DNA copying during reproduction is important for the maintenance of body design features that allow the orga~ism to use that particular niche. Reproduction is therefore linked to the stability of population of a species.
