In the adjoining figure, we have `angle1=angle3 and angle2=angle4`. Show that `angleA=angleC`.

Given, `angle1=angle3` ...(i)
and `angle2=angle4` ...(ii)
According to Euclid's axiom , if equals are added to equals , then wholes are also equal. On adding Eqs. (i) and (ii), we get
`angle1+angle2=angle3+angle4`
`rArr angleA=angleC`
