Acquired characters do not produce change 1n the genes (or DNA) of germ cells, so they cannot be inherited.
e.g., If tails of mice are cut in first generation, and them breeding is done , the new mice born will have full tails. The cut tail of mice is an acquired trait which is never passesd on their reproductive cells.
