When the iro core is inserted in the current carrying solenoid, the magnetic field increases due to the magnetisation of iron core and consequently the flux increases. According to Lenz's law, the emf produced must oppose this increases in flux, which can be done by making decrease in current. So, the current will decrease.

A solenoid is connected to a battery so that a steady current flows through it. If an iron core is inserted into the solenoid, then

Statement I: An eletric lamp is connected in series with a long solenoid of copper with air core and then connected to an ac source. If an iron rod is inserted in the solenoid, the lamp will become dim. Satement II: If an iron rod is inserted in the solenoid, the inductance of the solenoid increases.

A coil of self-inductance 50 henry is joined to the terminals of a battery of e.m.f. 2 volts through a resistance of 10ohm and a steady current is flowing through the circuit. If the battery is now disconnected, the time in which the current will decay to 1//e of its steady value is

An indcutor having self inductance L with its coil resistance R is connected across a battery of emf elipson . When the circuit is in steady state t = 0, an iron rod is inserted into the inductor due to which its inductance becomes nL (ngt1). after insertion of rod, current in the circuit:

An inductor having self inductance L with its coil resistance R is connected across a battery of emf epsilon . When the circuit is in steady state t = 0, an iron rod is inserted into the inductor due to which its inductance becomes nL (ngt1) . When again circuit is in steady state, the current in it is

A long solenoid connected to a 12V DC source passes a steady current of 2 A. When the solenoid is connected to an AC source of 12V at 50 Hz, the current flowing is 1A. Calculate inductance of the solenoid.

A tightly-wound, long solenoid having 50 turns cm^(-1) , carris a current of 4.00 A . Find the magnetic intensity H and the magnetic field B at the centre of the solenoid. What will be the values of these quantities if an iron core is inserted in the solenoid and the magnetization I in the core is 4.00 xx 10^6 A m^(-1) ?

Through a long solenoid of diameter 4.1 cm, having 100 turns per cm, a current I = 1A is flowing. At its centre, a 60 turns closely packed coil of diameter 3.1 cm si placed such that the coil is coaxial with the long solenoid. The current in the solenoid is reduced to zero at a steady rate in 10 ms. What is the magnitude of emf induced in the coil while the current in the solenoid is changing?

A current l = 1.5 A is flowing through a long solenoid of diameter 3.2 cm, having 220 turns per cm. At its centre, a 130 turn closely packed coil of diameter 2.1 cm is placed such that the coil is coaxial with the long solenoid. The current in the solenoid is reduced to zero at a steady rate in 25 ms. What is the magnitude of emf induced in the coil while the current in the solenoid is changing?
