A cow is tied with a rope of length 14m at the corner of a rectangular field of dimensions `20mxx16m` . Find the area of the field in which the cow can graze.

Let ABCD be a rectangular field of dimensions `20 xx16m` . Suppose , a cow is tied at a point A. Let length of rope be AE = 14m r (say).
Area of the field in which the cow graze = Area of sector `AFEG= (theta)/(360^(@))xxpir^(2)`
= `(90)/(360)xxpi(14)^(2)`
[so, the angle between two adjacent sides of a rectangle is `90^(@)` ]
= `(1)/(4)xx(22)/(7)xx196`
= `154cm^(2)`
