(i) Reimer- Tiemann reaction : Choloform reacts with phenol in aqueous sodium hydrxide at 340 K to give salicyldehyde

(ii)Friedel- Crafts reaction: When Chlorobenzene reacts with alkyl halides in th presence of anyhydrous `AlCl_(3)` the alkyl are introduced at ortho and para positions.
