(i) Kraft temperature : The temperature above which the formation of micelles takes place is called Kraft temperature.
(ii) Peptization : The process of converting a fresh precipitate into colloidal particles by shaking it with the dispersion medium in the presence of a small amount of a suitable electrolyte.
(iii) Electrokinetic potential : When one type of ions of electrolyte are absorbed on the surface of the colloidal particles, it forms a 'fixed layer'. It attracts the counter ions from the medium forming a second layer is called diffused layer. A difference of potential exists between the fixed layer and the diffused layer is known as electrokinetic potential.
