Why is vegetative propagation practised for growing some types of plants?

Text Solution

Some plants which do not produce viable seeds or produce seeds with prolonged period of dormancy are cultivated through the mode of vegetative propagation. Thus this method is used for growing of plants bearing superior traits, because they produce genically identical plants.
