Find the equation of a plane which is...

Find the equation of a plane which is parallel to the plane `x-2y+2z=5` and whose distance from thepoint `(1,2,3)` is 1.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The equation of the plane parallel to
`" "x-2y+2z=5` is `x-2y+2z+k=0" "` (i)
Now, according to the equation,
`" "(1-4+6+k)/(sqrt(9))=pm1`
`" "k+3=pm3 rArr k=0 or -6`
Then `x-2y+2z-6=0 or x-2y+2z=6`
