Segmentation : It is the division of some animals and plant body parts into a series of repetitive segments. True segment : It is seen in some animals of Annelid, Arthropoda and Chordata. In that repetition of continuous body parts and each repetitive segment is called metamere. In earthwors, metamery is seen in series. But it is different in various segments of the body of fish and insect. In Annelida external and internal metamery is clear. Pseudo segment : When body is divided into many segments but each of them is independent of each other is called pseudo segment. Each segment is capable for doing all biological functions. The growth of the body is done by adding new segments from anterior side. eg. Tapeworm.
