Which is a better mode of reproduction : sexual or asexual ? Why ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Sexual reproduction is a better mode of reproduction.
It involves the fusion of male and female gametes to produce variants which are not identical to their parents and themselves.
These variations allow individuals to adapt to the changing environment and ensure a greater survival of species.
On the other hand, asexual reproduction allows a little or no variation at all.
As a result, the individual produced is identical to its parent.
