Explain why meiosis and gametogenesis are always interlinked ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Gametogenesis is a process of formation of male and female gametes. The gametes of all the organisms are haploid, i.e., possess single set of chromosomes. These gametes are formed as a result of meiosis. This meiosis reduces the number of chromosome to half in the gamete hence meiosis and gametogenesis is interlinked.
