Warm water holds less dissolved oxygen than cold water. The fishes and other organisms are killed because of abrupt change in temperalule. It is called as thermal shock. It also increases metabulic rate due to increased enzymatic rate. Increased temperature can cause anaerobic conditions in deep waters which increases bacterial population.
