Write down about electron spin quantum number (s )

Text Solution

Quantum number l and `m_(l )` are not enough to explain the line spectra observed in the case of multielectron atoms that is some of the lines actually occur in doubles triplets etc
these two orientations are distinguished by the spin quantum numbers `m_(i)` which can take the values of` + (1)/( 2) ` or `(1)/(2)`
the two spin state of the electron are normally represented by two arrow `m_(s ) = (1)/(2)`
Two electrons of orbital that have different `m_(s )` value are said to have one + `(1)/2)` and two `-(1)/(2)` opposite spins.
