Total kinetic energy of ball rolling on a horizontal surface
= (translational kinetic energy) + (rotational kinetic energy)
`=(1)/(2)mv^(2)+(1)/(2)I.omega^(2)`
Moment of inertia `I=(2)/(5)MR^(2)` (for sphere) and `omega=(v)/(R )`
`therefore` Total kinetic energy
`=(1)/(2)mv^(2)+(1)/(2).(2)/(5)mR^(2).(v^(2))/(R^(2))`
`=(1)/(2)mv^(2)+(1)/(5)mv^(2)`
`=(7)/(10)mv^(2)`
