Neglecting the thickness of rod B, the moment of inertia of B becomes zero due to axis passes through it
`thereforeI_(B)=0`
Now moment of inertia of rod A is `I_(A)=(ML^(2))/(12)` and moment of inertia of rod B is `I_(B)=(ML^(2))/(12)`
`therefore` Total moment of inertia of a system
`=I_(A)+I_(B)=(ML^(2))/(12)+(ML^(2))/(12)`
`=(ML^(2))/(6)`
