Plants require water for their survival. But when watered excessively, plants die. Discuss.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Plants use water for various metabolic activities like photosynthesis, transpiration and respiration, while if more water is provided to plant then it dies. Because excess water removes air filled between soil-particles.
So roots of the plant can.t get oxygen for respiration. Once the cells of root die then absorption of water and mineral elements stops. As a result gradually the plant dies.
