How do you distinguish between `CH_3CH = CHCl , CH_3CH_2Cl and CH_2=CH-CH_2Cl`?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The Cl in `CH_2 = CHCH_2Cl` is very reactive. This reacts rapidly with `AgNO_3` in the cold to give a white precipitate of AgCl.
`CH_3CH_2CH_2CI` gives white precipitate when warmed with `AgNO_3` as it is comparatively less reactive.
`CH_3CH = CHCI` is inert and does not form white precipitate with `AgNO_3`.
