400cc of N2 at 600mm and 500cc of O2 at ...

400cc of `N_2` at 600mm and 500cc of `O_2` at 300mm are quantitatively transferred in to an empty vessel of X 2 L capacity. Calculate the pressure of the mixture and partial pressures.

Pressure of the final mixture `= P = (P_(1)V_(1) + P_(2)V_(2))/(V)`
` = (400 xx 600 + 500 xx 300)/(2000) = 195` mm
Partial presssure of nitrogen ` = (P_(1)V_(1))/(V) = (400 xx 600)/(2000) = 120` mm
Partial pressure of oxygen ` = (P_(2)V_(2))/(V) = (500 xx 300)/(2000) = 75` mm
