Think of situation when the object is not displaced in spite of a force acting on it.

A force of 5 N is acting on an object. The object is displaced through 2m in the direction of force. If the force acts on the object all through the displacement, then find the work done on the object.

Is it possible to move in a curved path in the absence of a net force?

A block of mass 2 kg is plased on a smooth horizontal surface. Two forces F_(1)=20 N and F_(2)=5 N start acting on the block in opposite directions as shown. If block gets displaced by 5 m in the direction of net force then work done by F_(2) is :-

Soni says that the acceleration in an object could be zero even when several forces are acting on it. Do you agree with her? Why?
