The given circuit has two ideal diodes connected as show in the figure. The current flowing through the resistance `R_(1)` will be

A

2.5 A

B

10.0 A

C

1.43 A

D

3.13 A

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
A

Diode `D_(1)` is reverse biased so, it will block the current and diode `D_(2)` is forward biased, so it will pass the current. Hence, equivalent circuit becomes as shown in the figure.
Current in the circuit = Current flowing through the resitance
`R_(1)=(10)/(2+2)=2.5A`
