The gut wall consists four distinct layer known as the serosa, musculris mucos, submucosa and mucosa. The gut wall contains glands whose linings are formed by invaginations of the epithelium linining the surface of the lumen. The given figures represent various gastric glands. Figure X represents various gastric glands. Figure X represents glands outside the gut. These include salivary glands, liver and pancreas. Figure Y represents glands in the submucosa and includes Brunner's glands. Figure Z represents glands in mucosa. These include gastric glands in stomach and crypts of Lieberkuhn at the base of vilus.
