The correct Answer is:
B

Louis Pasteur, by careful expermentation, demostrated that life comes only from pre-existing life. He observed that in pre-sterlised closed flasks, life did not come from killed yeast while in anotehr falsk opento air, new iving organisms arose from kille dyeast. He showed that the source of the new apearing micro-organisms was the air and the organisms did not arise from the nuterient media.

(iv) Rate of appearance of new form is inversely proportional to life spain of organism.

Louis Pasteur's experiments, if you recall, proved that life can arise from only pre-existing life. Can we correct this as life evolves from pre-esistent life or otherwise we will never answer the question as to how the first forms of life arose ? Comment.

Consider the following three statements and select the correct option stating which one is true (T) and which one is false (F). (i) Oparin of Russia and Haldane of England proposed that the first form of life could have come from pre-existing nonliving organic molecules (e.g, RNA, protein etc.) and that formation of life was preceded by chemical evolution. (ii) Based on observations made during a sea voyage around the world. Charles Darwin concluded that existing living forms share similarities to varying degrees only among themselves. (iii) Evolution by natural selection must have started when cellular forms of life with different metabolic capability originated on Earth.

Read the following statements and select the correct option w.r.t cell theory. (i) All living organisms are composed of cells and products of cells. (ii) Viruses are exception to cell theory because they are cellular particles. (iii) All cells arise from pre-existing cells. (iv) Activities of an organisms are the outcome of sum total of activities and interactions of its constituent cells. (v) Rudolf Virchow gave final shape to cell theory.
