Depletion layer of semiconductor is affected by various factors eg. biasing, temperature etc. So thickness of depletion layer is not fixed in all semiconductor devices. In depletion layer, negatively and positively charged immobile ions are present. Therefore no free charge carriers are available in depletion layer
