A

`I lt II lt III lt IV`

B

`II lt III lt IV lt I`

C

`I lt III lt IV lt II`

D

none of these

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
A

Dehydration of IV is most facile since , it give an anromatic campund. Dehydration of III gives a conjugated dience which is stabilised by reasonance.

Denhydration of II gives only cyclohexence which is not stabilsed by resonance.

In conatrast, phenol (I) des not undergo dehyration. Thus, the ease of dehydration is :
`IV ge III gt II gt I.`
