Generally TV waves have frequency range 100 - 200 MHz or even more and penetrate the ionosphere and are not reflected back. As space wave they can cover a distance of 50 - 60 km only. Therefore, for long distance TV transmission, we make use of satellites which reflect the TV signal wave back towards the earth.
