An aluminium can is used to store ferrous sulphate solution. It is observed that in few days holes appeared in the can. Explain the observation and write the chemical equations to support your answer.

Aluminium is more reactive than iron. Aluminium from the walls can react with ferrous sulphate to form its sulphate and iron is precipitated.
