Let `theta_(1)` and `theta_(2)` be the tempeatures of two ends of a metal rod 'AB' of length 'L' in steady state `(theta_(1) gt theta_(2))` . If `theta` be the temparature of the section at a distance 'x' from the hot end A then find `theta`. (assume steady state conditions).

Text Solution

Tempeature gradient is constant .
`i.e., (theta_(1) - theta)/(x) = (theta - theta_(2))/(L-x)` After solving , we get `theta = theta_(1) - ((theta_(1) - theta_(2))/(L))x`
