What will be the effect on concentration...

What will be the effect on concentration by decrease the volume of vessel containing `CO_((g)) + 3H_(2(g)) hArr CH_(4(g)) + H_2O_((g))` ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The concentration of reactants and pressure increases. As the volume of vessel decrease total pressure increases. Now pressure is proportional to the concentration. So as the volume decrease concentration increases.
Concentration `prop` pressure `prop` mole so as the volume decrease concentration of reactant increases as reactants have 4 mole and product is has 2 mole.
