If, the current I, through a resistor is increased by 100.% (assume that the temperature of the resistor remains unchanged), find the percentage increase in power dissipated.

Current after increased by 100 % = I.
`=I + (100I)/100`
`=2I`
So, new power `P. = I.^2R =(2I)^2R =4l^2R`
`:.` Percentage increase in power dissipation
`=(p. -p)/p xx 100%`
`=(4l^2 R -I^2R)/(I^2R) xx 100%`
`=(I^2R (4-1))/(I^2R) xx 100%`
`=3xx 100%`
`=300%`
