Resonance in series LCR circuit.
The phenomenon of impedance of the series LCR circuit becoming minimum and current in the circuit becoming maximum at a particular frequency of applied alternating voltage is called electrical resonance.
Expression for current through LCR series circuit at resonance is
`I_("max")=V/R`
Applications of resonant circuit
Resonant circuits used
1. As voltage amplifier
2. As filters
3. In the tuning mechanism of a radio or a television set.
