In young's double slit experiment distance between the slits is 0.5 mm. When the screen is kept at a distance of 100 cm from the slits, the distance of ninth bright fring from the centre of the fringe system is 8.835 mm. Find the wavelength of light used.

Given :
`x_(n) = 8.85xx10^(-3)` d = 0.5 mm= `0.5xx10^(-3)` m, D=1m , n =9
Distance of `n^(th)` bright fringe is given by
`x_(n) =(nlambdaD)/(d)`
`lambda=(x_(n)d)/(nD)=(8.835xx10^(-3)xx0.5xx10^(-3))/(9xx1) = (4.4175)/(9) xx10^(-6)m = 4908 Å`

In Young's double slit experiment the slits are separated by 0.28mm and the screen is placed at a distance of 1.4m away from the slits. The distance between the central bright fringe and the fifth dark fringe is measured to be 1.35cm . Calculate the wavelength of the light used. Also find the fridge width if the screen is moved towards the slits by 0.4m , for the same experimental set up.

A beam of light consisting of two wavelengths 500 nm and 400 nm is used to obtain interference fringes in Young's double slit experiment. The distance between the slits is 0.3 mm and the distance between the slits and the screen is 1.5 m. Compute the least distance of the point from the central maximum, where the bright fringes due to both the wavelengths coincide.

A beam of light consisting of two wave lengths 4200 Å and 5600 Å is used to obtain interference fringes in Young's double slit experiment. The distance between the slits is 0.3 mm and the distance between the slits and the screen is 1.5 m. Compute the least distance of the point from the central maximum, where the bright fringes due to both the wavelengths coincide.

In young's double slit experiment, distance between the slits is 1mm. The fringe width is found to be 0.6 mm. When the screen is moved through a distance of 0.25 m, the fringe width becomes 0.75 mm. Find the wavelength of light used.
