Two simple pendulums A and B are made to oscillate simultaneously and it is found that A completes 10 oscillations in 20 sand B completes 8 oscillations in 10 s. The ratio of the lengths of A and B is

A

`(8)/(5)`

B

`(64)/(25)`

C

`(5)/(4)`

D

`(25)/(64)`

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
B

According to questions,
For pendulum A,
`T_(A) = 2pi sqrt((I_(A))/(g))`
`(20)/(10)=2pi sqrt((I_(A))/(g))`
For pendulum B,
`T_(B)=2pi sqrt((I_(B))/(g))`
`(10)/(8)=2pi sqrt((I_(B))/(g))`
Dividing Eq. (i) by Eq. (ii), we get
`(I_(A))/(I_(B))=((160)/(100))^(2)`
`(I_(A))/(I_(B))=(64)/(25)`

A simple pendulum takes 32S to complete 20 oscillations. What is the time period of the pendulum?

The period of oscillation of a simple pendulum is T=2pisqrt(L/(g)) . L is about 10 cm and is known to 1 mm accurancy. The period of oscillation is about 0.5 second. The time of 100 oscillation is measured with a wrist watch of 1 s resolution. What is the accurancy in the determination of g ?

Two numbers 'a' and 'b' are selected successively without replacement in that order from the integers 1 to 10. find the probability that a/b is an integer.

The period of oscillation of a simple pendulum is T = 2pisqrt(L/g) . Measuted value of L is 20.0 cm known to 1mm accuracy and time for 100 oscillations of the pendulum is found to be 90s using a wrist watch of 1 s resolution. What is the accuracy in the determination of g ?
