A long straight current carrying wire passes normally through the centre of circular loop. If the current through the wire increases, will there be an induced emf in the loop ? Justify.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

When current flowing through a long straight current carrying wire increases, the magnetic field `vceB` increases. However, the magnetic field `vceB` acts radially along the loop and the magnetic flux associated to the loop `phi_(B) = vceB. vceA = BA cos 90^(@) = 0`. So, there is no induced emf in the loop.
